Compress videos to an exact file size. Nothing is uploaded.
No. The video is decoded and re-encoded entirely inside your browser using the WebCodecs API. It never leaves your device and no server ever sees it.
SnapTools works out the video bitrate from your target size and the clip length, leaving room for audio and about 5% container overhead. If the first result is still over the target it re-encodes once at a lower bitrate. If it still doesn't fit it tells you honestly and suggests trimming the clip.
Free compression handles source videos up to 100 MB. Pro raises that to 2 GB, depending on your device's memory.
Desktop Chrome and Edge 94+, Firefox 130+ and Safari 16.4+ support the WebCodecs API this tool needs. Audio encoding in Safari arrives in version 26; on older Safari the original audio is copied through when possible, otherwise you are warned before compressing. Firefox for Android is not supported.
